Mary Xarhoulacos- Metro, age 80, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio , passed away October 31, 2011 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Mary was born January 15, 1931 in Levestova (Krokeai-Krokees ), Greece to the late Theodore and Athena Xarhoulacos. Mary and her father, and brother Bill, left Greece in 1948 during the Greek Civil War arriving in the United States where she lived in Dayton for a number of years. She was employed at Standard Register until she met and married her husband Bill, when they moved to Youngstown then Columbus . Survived by her husband, Bill of the residence; son, Theodore and his wife, Loana Metro; granddaughters, Jana and Mara Metro; brothers, Jim, Tom, and Bill Xarhoulacos; sister, Toula Xarhoulacos. Mary was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and volunteered her help at many Festivals, member of the Philoptohos. Friends may attend a Celebration of Mary's Life with service, Friday, November 4, 2011 at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High St. from 11 a.m . with service at 1 p.m . V. RevArchmandite Nicholas Hughes and Father Panteleimon Maillis officiating. Interment Union Cemetery. Family suggest contributions made in memory of Mary be directed to the Greek Church.
